Mary Strugar Dip.ION, Med. NLP, MCMA
Registered Consultant Clinical Nutritionist

I trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London and am now a Fellow there, and a Member of the Institute of Functional Medicine in the USA. I am a trained Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, and a Human Givens Psychotherapist. My hands on, practical and pragmatic approach has been very appreciated by clients in one to one consultancy work. I believe that an excellent Nutrition Programme, good biochemical testing of established markers, plus an in depth understanding of the psychological and emotional components of illness are the keys in transforming health and well-being. I specialize in optimizing nutrition and lifestyle for men and women who plan to start a family. I implement programmes to improve health and specific symptoms in women with gynaecological hormonal disturbances, and have a particular interest in the holistic management of eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.

Acupuncture

Emma Cannon BSc (Hons) Ac, MbBAcC
Consultant Acupuncturist

I have been practising complementary therapies and acupuncture since the early1990’s. I now specialise in fertility and women’s health; conception, IVF support, pregnancy and postnatal care. My experience in integrated medicine provides a unique overview of both complementary and conventional medicine, both of which contribute to a positive therapeutic outcome for patients. There is no doubt that conventional medical treatments are required for complex specific fertility problems, but in almost a half of patients the problem is ‘unknown’ or relatively minor. In these cases complementary medicines are often appropriate. There is now strong scientific evidence that acupuncture improves fertility in both men and women.

Sex and Relationship Therapist

I am a certified Psychosexual Therapist and a relationship consultant. I have many years of experience in working with couples and individuals, helping them with their intimate relationships. I use a holistic approach in consultations by putting sexuality and relationship problems into the context of everyday life. This significantly increases the success rate and minimises relapses. I was the creator and host of an award winning BBC World Service programme on sex and relationship issues. My international work in the area of sex education was granted an honorary mention by the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) as a part of the 2007 WAS Award for Excellence and Innovation in Sexuality Education at the WAS conference in Sydney, April 2007.
